About the Artist
Rita Irvin
Rita Irvin is a self-taught mixed-media artist whose paintings explore memory, emotion, and transformation.
Born and raised in West Berlin, Germany, Rita grew up bilingual in a city alive with architecture and museums — an early immersion in art that never left her. Her influences range from the surrealism of Dalí and Magritte to the masterful form of Michelangelo and Renoir, and the fearless personal vision of Frida Kahlo and Georgia O’Keeffe.
After a career in sales and interior design, Rita has returned to her first passion: painting. Without formal training, she developed her own visual language — layered textures, surreal symbolism, and dreamlike imagery where koi drift through cobalt currents and figures balance between fragility and survival. Her years in interior design shaped a sharp instinct for color, composition, and how a work of art transforms a space.
Every painting is an original, one-of-a-kind work, made by hand and never reproduced.
