Parkside Paradox — Original Mixed Media on Canvas | Rita Irvin
She appeared at the edge of the park just as the light changed — not quite woman, not quite flame, her face dissolving into the warm afternoon air like something half-remembered from a dream you weren't sure was yours.
Below her, a small black bird holds its ground. Unhurried. Watching. Around them both, the world has gone beautifully strange: green organic forms drift like deep-sea flora, a violet trumpet blooms without a stem, and dots scatter across the ochre ground like breadcrumbs leading nowhere in particular — or perhaps everywhere at once.
Gold leaf threads through the layers, catching light the way memory does — in fragments, unexpectedly, when you weren't looking for it.
Parkside Paradox doesn't ask you to make sense of it. It asks you to stay a little longer.
