Against the Current — Signed Fine Art Print | Rita Irvin
She doesn't fight the water. She becomes something the water cannot stop.
Against the Current follows a woman at the threshold between worlds — half submerged, face lifted toward the light, eyes closed in something that looks less like struggle and more like surrender to her own becoming. Around her, koi rise and spiral through air and water alike, luminous in gold and crimson, defying the current simply by moving through it.
Words surface through the layers the way truth does — quietly, insistently: "Even against the current, I rise." "Be still and know your strength is deeper than you think." Lotus flowers bloom below the waterline. A sun burns orange against a stormy sky. Nothing here is giving up. Everything here is transforming.
This is a painting about the kind of resilience that doesn't announce itself. The kind that just keeps rising.

About the Artist
Rita Irvin is a self-taught mixed-media artist born and raised in West Berlin, Germany. Her work explores memory, emotion, and transformation through layered textures, surreal symbolism, and dreamlike imagery. Influenced by Dalí, Frida Kahlo, and Georgia O'Keeffe, Rita developed her own visual language without formal training — shaped by years in interior design and a lifelong immersion in art and architecture. Each print is a signed, numbered limited edition — a faithful reproduction of an original work, printed on archival fine art paper.
