Silence Under the Skin splits the figure between flesh and bone, beauty and decay, presence and absence. One half glows with life — vibrant blues, delicate wings, the suggestion of something still becoming. The other reveals what lies beneath: the hidden architecture of survival, the quiet battles we wage without witnesses.

This is a painting about the things we hold in silence. And about the strange, stubborn beauty that persists there anyway.

About the Artist
Rita Irvin is a self-taught mixed-media artist born and raised in West Berlin, Germany. Her work explores memory, emotion, and transformation through layered textures, surreal symbolism, and dreamlike imagery. Influenced by Dalí, Frida Kahlo, and Georgia O'Keeffe, Rita developed her own visual language without formal training — shaped by years in interior design and a lifelong immersion in art and architecture. Each print is a signed, numbered limited edition — a faithful reproduction of an original work, printed on archival fine art paper.
